It’s finally happening I’m escaping the monotony of my city, the boring night scene and well lets face it the Texan girls. My escape shall be to California, home of the American dream, Hollywood, and scantily clad women. Things are looking good, but what about all my friends? It is as if were scrambling to every part of the country trying to get away from each other; New York, Arkansas, Florida and Wisconsin just to name a few. These are no mere acquaintances; these are my brothers (male) and my best friends (female). How will I survive? Who’s my wingman? Panic settles in as the fear grips me, are these my last days with them? Or will our bonds stand the test of time? Some have already left and that just makes all the more real. I’ll miss not being able to hang out with them every day or weekend. I hope college is worth it. Summer comes to a close, my days of working hard on Call of Duty 4, on working out, on seeing how much I can annoy my parents are over. Now I jump into a new life in California, but that doubt sits in the back of my throat just waiting to turn into outright terror, like a crappy horror flick.
Luckily I have a tool arsenal to combat this, one dear friend shall accompany me to the abyss and hopefully something really cool lies deep in the watery caverns of college.
If you make and effort to stay in touch with those particular friends then ya’lls friendship will stand not only the test of time through college but beyond!

Don’t worry mi sobrino – you will have a great time at college and meet many new friends. Just remember – you are there to get a degree, so keep that in mind at all times. But, you can also experience many new things and widen your horizons. You are a great person and will do fantastic in life as long as you use your talents. Remember, everyone there is feeling the same as you, and it is a new chapter in your life. Keep a positive attitude and everything will fall into place. Hasta luego!!
