Cool Majors: Film

Do you have what it takes to be a filmmaker? Filmschools.com lists the top 10 traits you need to be a successful filmmaker, and they also have a list of film schools. One thing you should know about, though, is the Spielberg Model. The famed movie producer/director applied to USC and UCLA film schools only to be rejected, and attended Cal State Long Beach. Evidently, students’ motivation, ambition, and desire to learn have a much stronger effect on their subsequent success than the average academic ability of their classmates. So take a look at the film school list, and just remember you won’t be accepted at all of them, but it is up to you to be successful regardless of where you go to school.
