There’s no doubt that every college student hopes to leave with a degree at the end of the four years they spend in school, but today, they graduate with much more than that. Some of them carry the heavy burden of debt because they were not at the receiving end of scholarships or grants. But more importantly in today’s context, most students graduate with the apprehension of not being able to find a job in today’s tough job market. While the prognosis is not as bad as it was a year or so ago, it is still an uphill climb to find a cushy job that pays well and meets all your requirements. (more…)

Today I met the most remarkable man who has a most remarkable life story. I went to Leesburg, a small town in Central Florida, to visit Beacon College, a fully accredited 4-year college that specializes in working with kids with learning disabilities and ADHD. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. John Good, Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Outreach Programs, and he showed me around the school. As we walked around, he told me his life story which I will retell to the best of my ability and memory….. (more…)

It’s a golden period in your life, those four years you spend in college, so you must ensure that you extract the maximum out of them. You’re going to meet new people, make many friends and go through different experiences.
