As a music major I’m required to take music theory, aural skills, and keyboard (piano) skills. My teacher is so nice and really wants us to learn and wants to help us succeed. I can’t wait to learn all of this with him as my professor. While most of the theory is review for me right now since I took AP music theory my senior year, I know that once new stuff comes around, he’ll be able to teach that extremely well too. And since he was a trombone player, he understands that us instrumentalists have a little bit of a disadvantage when it comes to aural skills (ear training and sight singing) compared to the vocalists. I’ve had two days of classes. On Thursday I had aural skills (which is listening skills and sight singing), music theory, and writing workshop (a class that is required for one semester of all first years).

I had talked to my roommate on facebook a little bit so I sort of knew what she was like and was really excited to meet her. When I finally met her she seemed a lot more quiet than she had when we talked on facebook (if that even really makes sense).

At 8 a.m. “Team Trinity” came and grabbed every single thing out of the two cars that we brought and put everything outside of my room for me (thank the lord). After getting my key from my RM (resident mentor), my parents and I move the 9 or so boxes + a lot more into the room.

I’m Carly C (I know there is also a student blogger with the same name and spelling as mine so I’m going to try and differentiate). Any way, some of my other hobbies (besides playing my viola) include taking pictures, playing video games, writing, and hanging out with my friends (and I’ll probably find any excuse I can to visit them as much as possible). I worked really hard in school and luckily it paid off. I took every AP class that I could (except world history, history isn’t really my strong suit). My favorite subject outside of music is definitely math. Go ahead, call me crazy
