What a FANTASTIC day, especially for a Monday. I got up, dog-tired, went to class and was done by 11. The teacher in my first class woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but what can you do. By the time class was done, the sun was shining, it was a beautiful 72 degrees, and not a cloud in the sky. I spent the entire day outside!! It was amazing. This is the first warm beautiful day in Oxford, Mississippi in what seems to be forever! (more…)

Only a month into the semester and I feel like I’ve been in school for way more. So far I have all A’s in my classes. My goal is to keep up my grades and pull a 4.0. This is a high expectation but I think I can do it. I am more motivated this semester because I am in classes I actually like. I’m taking EDRD (education reading), Math, English, and Theatre.

Christmas Break was fantastic! I got to see my little brother, who is really starting to grow up. I went to Crested Butte, Colorado to go skiing with my family. We met up with another family, The Jordan’s, who we have been skiing with every year for the past 12 years or so. It was a lot of fun. My brother, Zachary, went down his first black slope (one of the hardest) this year. He did so well! I was very proud of him. (more…)
Last weekend was soo fun! Friday was my formal, which I didn’t get to go to because it was Wilson’s hockey game. Wilson and I are getting a little more serious. We’ve been hanging out a lot lately, and I wanted to take him to formal but he had a game, so I decided to go to his game instead. Where I met his whole family! (more…)
I am soo excited. This year aoii held its first annual strike out arthritis event. It was so fun. It was the first year, so not as many people showed up as we expected. I was on the committee. My job was to organize all the food for roughly 600 people! I went through Apple Bee’s and got pulled pork, coleslaw, and baked beans for a pretty good price. But then I got plates, plasticware, and rolls thrown in! I really liked doing that job. We sold tickets. One ticket got a plate of food then you could buy another plate for $5. Then we also had some concessions that you could buy like oreos, cookies, gushers, the good stuff. You wouldn’t expect anything less from AOII! (more…)
You might say there are many things that are unpleasant about going 10 hours away from home. Really, there is only one thing. No, its not that its hard to get home, or that your so far away from your family, or the fact that you might be nervous because your out of your comfort zone. No, these things are good. (more…)
What a great weekend!
Lately though, I have been feeling lonely here at school. And I have talked with a number of friends at other schools and they have all said the same thing. My theory is that Sophomore year in college pretty much every one goes through a re-evaluation of everything, friends, major, friends. (more…)
Well… again it’s been a while. Not as long as last time though. I was reading through my other blog and I realized that I was so tired, there were so many grammatical errors. But last week was super low key. I didn’t have much to do. Oh! (more…)
Firstly, I must apologize for not blogging for almost two weeks. But you have to understand I was in the middle of mid terms and Rush week. Mid terms went fine. I made good grades. I have only had two of three grades in each of my classes so I’m not worried about not making good grades. Rush week on the other had is such a different story. It’s fun don’t get me wrong, but its soo exhausting. (more…)
So, this week has been CRAZY at Ole Miss! It started out with Sunday. Ole Miss had our very first football game of the season. We played Memphis at Memphis and won 45 to 14! Hell Ya! Rebel yell! Hotty toddy, gosh almighty, who the hell are we! Hey! Flim Flam! Bim Bam! I went to my neighbors house to watch the game. It was fun, there was lots of food, beer, and tons of people over! Then we went back to my house and played wii games with a bunch of my friends and had midnight margaritas. Then the next day we didn’t have school Monday so I went to the fair with one of my best friends! Everything in Oxford is either 5 minutes away or 1 hour away, so Wilson and I drove an hour to Tupelo (a city in Mississippi) and went to one of those traveling fairs that only comes for like a month out of the year. It was a ton of fun! There was one of those super man rides, and this other ride that was called the Kick Flip. That was a crazy ride. It was like three different directions of motion, up side down, around, and diagonal. Wilson said it felt like being in a dryer, why he knows what being in a dryer is like is beyond me but what ev. Other than that there was a show about monkeys that was really cute, a couple of fun houses, lots of fair food, and some classic southern t-shirts. There were also games of course. Wilson and I played the one were you throw darts at balloons and we won a gigantor fish. When I say “we” I mean him of course. We left the fair about 5:30 and picked up one of my sorority sisters. We hung out for a while, did some home work together, then when off to bed.
Tuesday was tuesday, classes and stuff, lunch at the house. Wednesday was about the same as well. Thursday we had our first AOII date party. It started out really rocky. Our ride bailed on us so we had no ride. But I saved us though, don’t worry, and found a ride! After that, we went to dinner then back to my friends dorm to hang out a little. Then to the dance! The theme was Draft-a-date, so my date and I went in jerseys. Our group looked so weird though. One couple went in tie-dye as hippies, one went all dressed up in dresses, and we went in jerseys. Any way the night ended up being a success. It was fun, good music, good food, all was well. Next week won’t be as exciting. I have some papers and a test, then rush starts the 23rd.
That’s all for now,
see ya!
