Next semester.

Written on December 4th, 2009 by John Cno shouts
I’m still debating whether or not I’m even doing CCCC next semester. I’ve missed (at the very least) seven English classes, five Govt. II classes, and a couple Speech classes. I really have no drive to do anything related to school. All I want to do in the winter is work (if anyone knows of any job opportunities gimmie a ring) and save up for next fall. I’m planning on moving to Austin and going to Austin Community College.

Well that is me up to this point. Thanks for reading.

P.S. If you’re in college and haven’t taken speech yet; do it online. It is insanely pointless and exceptionally difficult as an actual class.

From the Community College Front

community college, college adventuresDear friends and countrymen,

Well this isn’t as bad as I thought. My classes are pretty easy and painless for the most part. I withdrew from a half semester class just because I didn’t want a 3 hour class on tuesdays and thursdays. I missed the drop date for that class by ONE DAY so I didn’t get a refund, but that’s the beauty of community college: It’s flippin cheap. (more…)

Drama Drama Drama: The Good Kind!

I may be going to a community college but it doesn’t mean I don’t have lots of options to choose from when it comes to cool and fun activities. So far, I’ve gotten involved with the Improv team which is probably my favorite. It’s basically like an amateur version of “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” and we have a lot of really funny people. Or at least, we all think we’re pretty darn amusing. (more…)

Small School, Big Fun! ish :)

Hi!  I’m Allison, I’m 18, and I am attending community college here in Illinois. I just wanna use this blog to talk about some of the awesome oppurtunities I’m discovering here at my school! When I first started searching for a school, I was so sure that I didn’t want to be stuck in a community college. I wanted out of my house, out of my town, and off to somewhere big and exciting. But due to a shortage of money, which I know we can all relate to lately, it just wasn’t a realistic option. So I resigned myself to going to my local community college, often nicknamed “Harvard on the Hill.” I wasn’t looking forward to it. As far as I was concerned, it was going to be glorified highschool. But I was so wrong!  So far, I’m in interesting classes with teachers who really care about their subjects, and because of the small class, they know who I am and I get to express my opion often. I’m involved in the theatre and music programs, and have met a lot of cool people who are interested in what I’m interested in, and so we’ve hit it off great! It is most definitely NOTHING like high school (thank goodness) and I’m really happy with my decision. So I guess I’m gonna be here to tell you about all the fun we have, the cool stuff I learn and what a great choice community college really is. Hopefully, it can help with some people out there unsure of what to do next with their educations and maybe entertain some along the way.

In theory, anyway :)

That’s all for now!

Time to play the High School Expansion Pack

Written on August 24th, 2009 by John Cno shouts

Well the dreadful day of August 24th has arrived and most classes are starting here at Collin County Community College. Is it a coincidence that these classes start on the same day as RISD High Schools? People do say that Community college is, for all intents and purposes, 13th grade. Do I deserve to be here? Well I did have to Google whether or not I was using the phrase “for all intents and purposes” correctly. Luckily my first and only class of the day is Speech and Communications so I won’t have to stress this melon of mine too much.

Wish me luck in school and on this blog. I’ll try to make it interesting.
