I sat down to check my mail and all of a sudden got inspired. Here it is, 20 minutes later. Everything that is said is merely an opinion, so no need to get anyone’s knickers in a twist!
What if none of it matters?
What if we sit here, trying to make sense of everything that happens, the good, the bad, the indifferent, and what if, at the end of the day, at the end of our lives, none of it matters? What if we just go back to the dust, having strived and lived our whole lives trying, yearning to find meaning in things that maybe weren’t made to have meaning at all? (more…)
Hello all! I do apologize for not having blogged in forever. Much has happened! I got into Lake Forest College in Illinois, received a wonderful scholarship, and am currently waiting on receiving my financial aid package. I am so excited! I have long finished all of my applications and have submitted everything, and now I am just waiting to hear back from all of the colleges in April! (more…)
Yep, you read that right. I just received an email from a school that I applied to Early Decision that informed me that the Admissions Board has deferred my application to the regular decision pool. Better than a flat out ‘Sorry we don’t want you’ I suppose, but it still wasn’t exactly the answer I was hoping for… of course, I was a bit aggravated at first, but then I got to thinking about the whole thing. Hello all -
So many things seem to be happening. A wonderful soul was lost recently. Tracy Fisher was a sweet girl that I knew when I attended Richardson High School, and we hung out with a lot of the same people. I remember seeing her in F Hall outside of theater every day at 4:11, right after school let out. We would always gather in the Fine Arts hall and just chit chat… and never did I see Tracy without a huge grin on her face! She lit up a room. I didn’t particularly know her very well, but it was apparent that everyone loved her and she had a promising future. (more…)
It’s October – the cold weather is setting in, the holiday season is approaching, and I find myself in the mood for a pumpkin spice latte or peppermint hot chocolate more often. But this also means crunch time. I have decided to apply early decision to Wellesley, and therefore, I am in a race to get everything done and my application on their desk by November first.

Hey there, I have just returned from a weekend trip to Massachusetts! I visited Boston University, Mount Holyoke College, and Wellesley College. I thought I would return to Dallas with my heart set on one of these schools, but I have encountered a slight problem – I pretty much fell in love with Mount Holyoke AND Wellesley. One thing I do know, I’ll end up where I am supposed to be! (more…)

Life coaches and those who consider themselves reputable in the task of living life and advising others on how to do so instruct the general population to prioritize a “To-Do” List based on importance. Hello there, the name is Maddy and I am your normal 17 year old high school senior, trying to make it into college. Well, as normal as a person who goes to school two and a half hours four days a week, is taking Arabic classes, writing a book, trying to run a teen ministry and is going to flight school, can be.
