WEEEEEELLLLLLL I’m BAAAAACCCKKKK!!!
I’m happily moved into my brand spankin new room at the Alpha Phi house in the grand ole city of Austin, TX and quite frankly, I couldn’t be more pleased! We had to come back to school 2 weeks early for work week/polish week (when we finalize and practice everything for rush and get all settled in before our PNM’s come down to rush! Wes and Colleen: BFFs
So I have 12 days before I move back home for the summer in case you didn’t get that from my title. This year has gone by insanely fast, I’m still reeling! I’ve made some really good friends, tried a few on and put them back, and had some of the best experiences of my life. This year has been almost without a doubt one of the best of my life, despite everything bad that has happened.

I’ve discovered one of my biggest complaints as far as testing in college goes. We study for days, up till all hours, all to sit in the testing room for 50 questions in 60 minutes. Most of us finish in about 30. We go crazy, sleep-deprived, ignore all other classes, and drink coffee like water. These exams count for large percentages of our grades. 30 minutes of our day makes up 30% of our grade. (more…)

Just a quick update as to the pending results of the auditions… I got called back to Emergency Prom, Bre’r Wood, and The Fantasticks! And Junie B. Jones hasn’t posted their list yet. That’s so exciting!!!! I went to my call back for Emergency Prom last night and it was a hardcore workout/movement exercise, but then we threw in some fun improv and some scene work and I really had fun! I feel good about how I did, regardless of whatever the results are. I’m not sure when they post the cast list.. (more…)

AHHHH!!! Auditions for the mainstage shows next semester are this week. I literally just got back from my audition. I think it went alright? I sang Amazing grace, did a comedic monologue and a dramatic monologue–both of which I love because they mirror my life so well. I was only supposed to bring in one monologue, so I did my serious one. Then they asked me if I had anything lighter that I could show them, so luckily I’d been working on this one recently and was able to say yes! (Can you imagine how awkward if I’d had to say no?) Why the hell does everyone keep calling me an adult? I’m not! I certainly don’t feel like one! I mean I know I’m legally an adult, but heck I’ve still got the word “teen” attached to my age! Sometimes life is just confusing. I’m not part of the adult world of working and marrying and dropping kids off at soccer. (more…)
But I think it’s probably important to know something of what you’re getting into. A little bit of the underbelly of what can happen when you choose to party and don’t take care of yourself or go out with reliable people. (more…)

I can’t seem to kick this cold. At least I think it’s a cold… My nose is clear but I’ve got postnasal drip which is making my throat sore and my voice has recently desserted me. I don’t have a fever, I don’t feel bodily aches and pains, I do feel sleepy at the most random times, and I haven’t lost my appetite. (more…)

Well the holidays were great. I got a job at James Avery where I ended up spending most of the money I earned! I spent a lot of time with friends and family and I went on a weekend trip to Denver where I saw my roommate, my friend Ian who is at school in Wisconsin and lives in Durango, CO, and I snowmobiled (it’s the BEST thing ever!) and skiied. (more…)
Well, thanksgiving has just ended. My favorite holiday. It has the 4 F’s: Friends, family, food and football. What else can you ask for? You don’t have to buy gifts like christmas, have a boyfriend like valentines, have a date/midnight kiss like new years, or worry about getting bad gifts like your birthday. The only thing comparable is 4th of July which is pretty amazing too. (more…)
